How much time should I schedule?  This depends on the size of the area being addressed and the type of massage.  If massage is prescribed by your doctor, he/she will help you decide.  Clients find the time goes very quickly.  Generally, to receive a full body massage and achieve a deep sense of relaxation, an hour is needed.

How often should I schedule a massage?  Frequency depends on goals for massage.  A client who is experiencing an acute injury may benefit from specific deep tissue work 2-3 times per week.  Others look forward to a massage every four weeks to keep their body tuned and keep them feeling their best.  Often when clients experience increased emotional, mental or physical stress in their lives they look forward to more frequent massage to restore balance.

What should I wear?  Clients are covered at all times with a sheet or towel and only the body part being massaged is exposed.  Clients are encouraged to undress to whatever they are comfortable with.  Some fully undress.  Others are comfortable wearing underwear or exercise shorts.

What should I do?  Feedback is important, especially for deeper specific work on injured areas.  During a full hour relaxation massage, it is best to close your eyes, breathe deeply, and let it go.

Should I talk?  Feedback about the massage is important.  Tell the therapist if the massage is too hard or soft, or if you feel uncomfortable.  Otherwise, speaking isn't necessary and can distract from the increased body-mind awareness.

Should I tip the therapist?  This is completely up to you.  Tips are not required but are welcome.  You will be given the same quality of care either way.
